Week of April 22 - Kindergarten, 1st Grade, & 2nd Grade

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

Create big, beautiful 3-D flowers!

ree

First, make sure you have your supplies together:

ree

You will need: - a pencil

- a few different sized circular objects to trace

- a bowl of water

- watercolor paint

- a paintbrush

- a few sheets newspaper

- glue

- buttons or bottle caps for the center of the flower

- scissors

IF you don’t have watercolor paints you can use washable markers and water to give a watercolor effect as we did in our last project.

To start, spread out your paper and begin to trace your circles on it. I traced enough circles to make two flowers but if you’re only going to make one flower you will need: 2 large circles, 3 medium circles and 3 small circles.

Now it’s time to get your paints ready! or your markers and water if you don’t have paint handy. Start painting in the circles! Combine 2 or 3 colors when you’re painting to make and exciting combination.

Once you’ve painted all your circles, let them dry. When they’re dry, get ready to cut them out. Please ask for help with scissors if you think you’ll need it!

When you’ve cut them all out arrangehem in piles by size, small, medium and large.

ree

Now arrange them on from large to small on top of each other.

Now, one by one, starting with the botton layer, put a dot of glue to attache that layer to the next.

ree

Let your flower dry for a bit. Then take it in your hands and crumple it all up. Uncrumple it layer by layer to give the flower petals a realistic look.

Add a button or bottle cap to the middle to make a center for the flower.

Tah-dah! Your beautiful flower is all done! Hang it some where so it can brighten your day!
