Week of April 2nd - Kindergarten, 1st Grade, & 2nd Grade

Make a Easter party scene that looks like watercolor, using washable markers!

To get ready we will need the following supplies:

-a pencil

-a sharpie

-paper

-washable markers

-a cup of water

-a paintbrush

Let's get ready to draw our eggs + chicks! To start, I made myself a tracer that looks like the shape of half of an egg.

Use this tracer to make three egg shapes on along the bottom edge of your page.

Continue making egg shapes behind the first row. Make sure you place them between the eggs in front so they peek through the middle.

Once we've created three rows of egg shapes, we're ready to turn them into eggs and chicks! Draw some faces complete with beaks and rooster combs (the little red thing on their heads). Also, turn some of your shapes into decorated eggs. Make sure you practice using fun patterns! Circles, squiggles, dots, triangles!

Now we will carefully outline ALL of our lines with a permanent marker. Ask for some help from a sibling or parent if you need it!

Now we're ready to add color! We're going to use our washable markers. Make sure you choose beautiful, bright colors! Also, when you're coloring in, it can be a little scribbly since we're going to paint over it with water.

Once we've colored in all of our eggs and the background with a bright color we are ready to paint over the marker with water!

Make sure you paint over one color at a time and then wash the brush before painting the next color!

Once you're all done painting, let your artwork dry. When it's all dry make sure you hang your beautiful artwork up somewhere for everyone to see!
